Volunteer50 supports UC San Diego’s mission of public service by connecting our campus community with volunteer opportunities—including our campuswide signature events—and showcasing the collective impact of our volunteers. Whether you volunteer for one of our projects, or with the nonprofit of your choice, all community service counts toward your participation in the Volunteer50 initiative.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new people, learn new skills and make a direct impact on your community. When you join Volunteeer50, you’ll be the first to know about upcoming UC San Diego volunteer opportunities. You’ll also enjoy these added benefits:
Receive a free t-shirt when you participate in a Volunteer50 service project.
We make it easy to track your service hours online throughout the year. You can also have your service hours verified through Volunteer50.
Volunteer50 hosts an annual volunteer celebration in June. We also offer special giveaways throughout the year to thank volunteers.
Can you complete 50 hours or more of community service during the academic year? Volunteer50 gives special recognition to volunteers who meet this goal, a tradition that began during UC San Diego’s 50th anniversary.
