Dear University Friends,
UC San Diego’s commitment to service is one of our most important values as a public university. For the fifth year in a row, Washington Monthly has recognized our campus as the nation’s top college for contributing to the public good. That praise is a reflection of our students, staff, faculty and alumni, who give back to the community through education, research, patient care and volunteer projects.
As we begin a new academic year, I challenge you to join the UC San Diego Volunteer50 program and commit to contributing 50 hours of service—or more—this year. Volunteer50 will be recruiting volunteers for several campus signature events, from Founders Celebration to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and the Triton 5K. Whether you choose to volunteer with one of these activities, or with an outside organization you are passionate about, you will be making a direct impact on the wellbeing of our community.
Thank you for all you do to help our university and community.
With kind regards,
Pradeep K. Khosla
